Vehicle Information
The Casspir Armoured Personnel Carrier design was a collaboration between the SAP (South African Police) and the CSIR (Council for Scientific & Industrial Research), its name being an anagram of the 2. It was used in both internal & external security roles, excelling in both.
Both the SANDF (South African National Defence Force) and the SAPS (South African Police Service) maintain reserve fleets of refurbished Casspir APC’s.
The Casspir APC is probably used in more countries today than any other APC.
